Whether you believe you are a “negotiator” or not, we all have to influence decisions each day. In this video there are two great ideas that I am taking away:
- To re-start a negotiation or discussion that has gone silent, ask the question: “Have you given up on this process?”
- But importantly, be prepared to show empathy by demonstrating you genuinely understand the other party’s challenges.
Again, whether it is a negotiation, discussion, or proposal, these are solid practices to re engage a partner, client, or team member.
