Friday Unwind – How to Use Microresolutions to Transform Your Life

22 Jan

Good morning everyone. Staying with this month’s “theme” aimed at help you stick with your new year’s changes/ resolutions, here is a quick video on the idea of microresolutions. Based on the idea that most new year’s resolutions are so big that they can never be maintained, microresolutions are the small changes that help us build momentum to achieve bigger changes.

If you can stick with your new year’s changes this long you are very close to starting to build them into habits. Keep going!

All the best, kevin

Friday Unwind – Gretchen Rubin – Habits and the strategy of first steps

9 Jan

Good morning everyone! Staying with the idea of building habits in this new year, today’s Friday Unwind is from Gretchen Rubin. She has a book coming out in March titled “Better Than Before: Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives.” (

As part of the lead up to the release of the book, she has been releasing videos on her You Tube channel sharing ideas from the book on building habits, which is particularly interesting given the time of the year we are in now.

And to state my own thought again, I am not a big fan of resolutions. I am big fan of change, and to make a change requires new or , at least, modified habits. And starting new habits requires, as she references, focusing on the first steps.

Be sure to catch her idea on “Don’t break the chain”….it is something I am trying myself.

All the best, kevin
